From Here to There is the remarkable story of Nancy Fabbri who, at age 62, earned a private pilot's certificate in preparation for a flying adventure with her husband, Lou. Their book describes their flight from their home in Georgia to Alaska in a plane with a 2-hour range and service ceiling of 11,500 feet.

"Faith in Someone greater than ourselves made the impossible possible." For Lou and Nancy Fabbri, an 8,200-mile trip to Alaska in "Yellowbird"—a 1940 dope and fabric J-3 Piper Cub with 65 HP and 10 gallons of usable fuel—seemed an impossible undertaking when their son first mentioned it. With the wisdom from many counselors, family, friends, and strangers, the impossible became the journey of a lifetime.

Lou, a 66-year-old retired Delta Airlines mechanic and heart attack survivor, provided the wisdom and expertise to help Yellowbird make the trip. Join Lou and Nancy in the day-by-day journaling of their trip—a story of adventure, love, family, and relationships as well as a primer of aviation issues encountered on such a trip.

The book, signed by the authors, comes with a DVD containing 400-some pictures with captions. Read the book and view the pictures, chapter by chapter, reliving the adventure with Lou and Nancy. At the end of the DVD is a video in which their daughter, Christina Robertson, interviews her parents soon after their return in Georgia. You'll learn about trip planning, survival gear, IFR (I follow rivers, roads, and railroads), WWII gravel strips available throughout BC and the Yukon, available fuel—everything you need to know to take such a trip yourself!

Softcover, 239 pages, includes DVD, signed by the authors

What a wonderful adventure I have been having ever since I met both of you and bought your book at Oshkosh. The beauty of your writing brings tears to my eyes. I ration out one chapter a day because I don't want it to end!

Having finished reading your book and viewing the associated DVD, I wish to advise that the description of your journey was extremely interesting. I am sure that was a sojourn of a lifetime for both of you – and to accomplish it in a J-3 Cub!

As soon as I got home, I read your book in two sessions. The ultimate criterion of books of this genre is that the readers feel that they were there. Your book more than meets this criterion. Being a fellow Cub pilot, I had the sense that I was with you in the cockpit. You were also much more people oriented than I am and that added a lot to the sense of the reader's being along on the trip.
Your descriptive powers were wonderful. This was especially true when describing following the rivers in Canada and going through the mountains in Alaska. Having read the book before I viewed the DVD, I knew what I was looking at in the pictures. The DVD added a great deal to the book and was well done.
